I tried last night, grumble, grumble, but they had a
twilight double feature, but were closed up by 8:00-9:00.

Sorry about today, I had posted up above that the box office was not open from 1-4, but they also are not open tonight either.

Tomorrow they are open from 1-4, then in the evening from 7:00 on. I'll try and score some tickets around 4:00.

If I do make it down, I'll let you know.

I did talk to a woman there who said they were not close to selling out and told me not to worry, that I'd most likely be able to get tickets at the door.

The films are transferred by Yale Labs on a rank cintel to either Betacam SP or Digital Betacam.
The founder of Flicker, Norwood Cheek, supervises the Super-8 transfers to video at Yale.

Sound supplied by the filmmaker is added onto the video master.

The video master is projected at the Egyptian Theatre. In my opinion, Last years films looked good if you were in the first few rows.

Chas had made a comment on another forum last year that some of last years films had huge grain. However, since the filmmakers were in the first couple of rows so that they could be introduced quickly before their films were shown, the rest of the audience probably got a better view. Heck, even 35mm prints look grainy in the first couple of rows.

Last year, only Ektachrome and Black and White were allowed, this year, the negative stocks and Kodachrome options were added.

If Mini-Dv can be projected large via a video projection, I'm sure Super-8 can hold it's own also.

    Tickets are $9.00
